About Posting

This site is devoted to Silverlight. The listings are software built with Silverlight or resources about Silverlight. We even have a category for your to list your blog or website that is related to Silverlight. Be sure to check out the category for websites built with Silverlight!

*Note: All posts must be approved before they are displayed.  If your post does not show up within a few days, it may not have been accepted for one reason or another.  Often this might be due to, but not limited to, duplicated information.

Posting Guidelines and Notes

Fields:

• Subject: This is the title of the application or name of the resource you wish to submit.
• Category: It is mostly obvious how to use the category field.  A few notes though:
  • Only post in one category unless you have special permission
  • If you do not find a category that fits, use "Other" and post us a note suggesting a new category to add to the list.
• Type: This is also an obvious field, but contains some special types:
  • Blog is a special category for Blogs which are devoted to the topic of Silverlight
  • Website Related to Silverlight - As the name suggests, this is to list websites that are devoted to the topic of Silverlight
  • Websites Built with Silverlight - This is a guarded type of listing where only sites have a considerable portion or are completely built with Silverlight.  These are evaluated and approved on an individual basis.
• Target: Use this field to select the target version of Silverlight.  It is not meant to specify all the versions the resource is compatible with, only the one the resource was targeted.
• Company Website URL: This is the other optional field.  Here you would enter the URL to a primary website where Item URL is located, if you have one.  For example, if the resource was a Silverlight module created by R & J Technologies and located on the website, wwww.RJSoft.com, you would enter that here.  The next field you would enter the direct path to the module such as www.RJSoft.com/Products/MySilverlightModule.aspx
• Item URL: As mentioned above, this is the actual location of the resource you are submitting.  You do not need to enter the "http://" in from of it.

Maximum Length:

The Subject, Company/Name and Company Website URL are limited to 100 letters.  The Summary field up to 900 letters.  The Details field up to 16,000 letters.

URLs:

The two fields, Company Website URL and Item URL do not require the leading http://.  However, in the Details section any URL beginning with http:// or https:// and is URL ends with a space, will be automatically converted to a clickable URL link.

HTML Tags:

In the Details section, you can use the <h2></h2>, <h3></h3> and <ul><li></li></ul> tags to help format the text. Be sure they are lower case!

Spam Protection

To help prevent spam on this site and free us up for other important work, we use a method of validation were you enter a number matching the one you are shown in a graphic format.  While this is not 100% effective, it does help!

When you make your post, you will notice the graphic with three numbers inside it with a red border to the left of the submit button.  Simply enter that number into the box to the right of it before you hit submit.
